Old Ruud Model Numbers
. 104 AnswersSOURCE:A hard start or turbo 2000 will not work if the run capacitor is bad. You will need to contact a ruud supply house or dealer with model and serial to find out the exact match. I have checked my sources and came up empty handed. You could try getting a 35/5 MFD at 440V or a 45/5 MFD at 440V as these are the most common capacitors used in Rheem and Ruud equipment. The key is that you will need to check your amp draws on both motors against the nameplate rating to make sure that you are not over-amping the motor. Also check the nameplates on both of the motors.
Most condenser fan motors and some compressors list the capacitor size they require in a somewhat less than conspicious location on the label.Posted on Jun 27, 2008.
